Dear APS Community,
Today we received notification that one of our APS students tested positive for COVID. We have been working closely with the parent, APS staff, and parents of students within the classroom. In consultations with the Lenawee County Health Department we will continue to provide instruction to our students on Monday in accordance with our approved Return to Learn Plan. Face-to-Face instruction will continue across the district except in the impacted classrooms listed below.
Students from Ms. Pifer’s Classroom and Ms. Edgerly’s Classroom at Michener Elementary will proceed with their classes in a remote setting for 14 days and will be able to return, if symptom free, on Monday, October 5th, 2020. Mrs. Lacasse has been and will continue to contact parents in these classrooms via phone so please make sure to answer your phone.
It is also important that your email remain up to date so we can communicate information to parents in impacted classrooms written notification from the Health Department in this case and in future cases. You can always update your email by calling your child’s building.
Again, only the two specific classrooms mentioned above are going remote, all other classrooms across the district will continue Face-to-Face. I strongly encourage you to talk with your child on a daily basis about the known symptoms associated with COVID, and keep your child home if they are experiencing symptoms to prevent another classroom having to go to remote learning or having a transmission to other students and/or staff. Most importantly, if you, your child, or another household member gets a COVID test, please do not send your children to school until the results are clear.
Reminder that COVID Guidance and APS documents for parents are all located at: https://www.adrianmaples.org/back-to-school/

Be safe and Go Maples!!!
