As you know the Michigan Supreme Court overturned the Governor’s Executive Orders related to COVID procedures across the state.APS has been operating under a series of guidance from the Governor’s Executive Orders, but also a comprehensive Return to Learn Plan that the locally elected APS Board of Education has adopted as our guiding principals for keeping both students and staff safe. For APS staff and students that continues to be the use of masks and social distancing as the main means of protection. In the coming days we will be examining the potential for changes to our plan and what if any modifications we will be making. The next Board of Education meeting is on Monday, October 12, 2020 at 6pm where the Return to Learn Plan will be re-examined.Until then, students and staff will continue to be expected to wear masks and follow our existing protocols. There have been a number of areas that local superintendents have felt a need to push back and ask for changes from the State and local level. We will continue to advocate for our kids and staff so we can keep everyone safe and face-to-face classes in session based on the success of the last four weeks.
